dBoots 1/10 Buggy foam inserts are available in three different hardness compounds to suit different tyre types and different track conditions. They have been designed to work with all dBoots 1/10^th buggy tyres and will also work well with other manufacturers tyres.

A harder insert can be used in higher grip conditions and on smoother track surfaces. With a harder insert the tyre will have more support than with a softer insert and so will not move about so much during cornering. This will give the car a more direct feel when driving on a smoother surface. Using a harder compound insert in the front tyres can also help smooth a car out through corners, especially on a high grip track.

A softer insert can be used in lower grip conditions and on rougher track surfaces. A softer insert will allow the tyre and insert combination to absorb small bumps and a rough track surface better than a harder insert. A softer insert will also allow the tyre to move about more and create more grip, which can be very useful in low grip conditions.

A good starting point is to use the medium hardness insert all round. If you need less front end bite, to make the buggy drive smoother through corners, go to a harder insert in the front tyres. If you need more traction then go for a softer insert in the rear tyres.
