Wrangler, the Conqueror
Tamiya is proud to add the Jeep Wrangler (YJ) which was produced in 1987 as a new generation model of the Jeep to the 1/10 scale R/C model to the rock crawling machine lineup. The injection molded body features precision details such as door hinges and hood catch pins and is also equipped with a high-lift jack on its rear. The excellent rock crawling CR-01 shaft driven 4WD chassis features durable ladder frame with aluminum side channels and resin cross members as well as 4-link rigid suspension with oil dampers that are actuated via aluminum pushrods. In addition, it comes with a lockable differential, large diameter tires with side tread patterns, and beadlock wheels. As the Wrangler has been quite popular as a base for rock crawling machines in the U.S., this R/C version will perfectly match scenes such as driving on difficult rocky terrains.

Jeep WranglerYJ
The name gJeeph is synonymous with 4WD vehicles and can trace its roots back to the Willys MB and Ford GPW that were first produced for the US military in 1941. After the end of WWII, a civilian version (CJ) was produced from 1945. Due to its heritage, the CJ had a strong military image which is reflected in the new generation 1987 developed and released YJ model. It features a redesigned body with distinctive rectangular headlights, a 4.2 liter inline-six cylinder gasoline engine housed under the lowered hood, a part-time 4WD system, as well as a wider tread and softer suspension setup for increased ride comfort while maintaining its legendary off-road capability. Over 630,000 YJs were produced until 1995, and today is still a popular vehicle also being widely used as a cross-country and rock crawling machine by fans around the world.

Suspension

4-link rigid suspension features front and rear stabilizers and provides sure-footed performance.

Wheels & Tires

Tires feature inner sponge and tread pattern on the sidewalls to provide maximum grip in rock crawling environments. They are mounted on 3-piece beadlock wheels.

Suspension II

Dampers are actuated via pushrods and rocker arms. Separate coil springs act as tension springs to help maintain a controllable stance.

Steering Servo

Steering servo is mounted in a servo bed above the axle in an innovative way so as to not interfere with suspension movement.

Planetary Gearbox
Compact gearbox tranfers power to all 4 wheels and the small size enables lower battery position for better center of gravity.

Lockable Differential

Front and rear 3-bevel diffs can be locked to provide the ultimate level of off-road traction.
